People who work in the Health and Social Care Sector often get opportunities to attend various courses about dementia, unlike those who work in other sectors. As a group we feel we should be doing what we can to raise awareness and understanding of Dementia in our community and this bus would certainly help us to do that. We would like the places on the sessions to be offered to family members of those living with Dementia, employees from customer facing businesses and people who run groups locally.

The VDT gives individuals, an emotional reflective learning experience and increases their understanding. This really is an exciting unique opportunity.
We would like to have the bus in town for 3 days, which would mean 108 people in our community would benefit from the experience. However, the reach and the benefits to others, from those who attend the sessions will be far greater. Tesco have already consented to the bus being on their car park and will allow the use of their community room for the debrief afterwards.

We are seeking funds to help us bring the VDT to town.
The cost of the tour bus is £1140 per day, which breaks down to £31.66 per person.
The total cost for three days is £3420.

We will be inviting journalist to come along to experience it for themselves.
This will be not for profit, we are simply trying to cover the cost.
We are seeking funders who can help us fund this 3 day event. Funders will receive great publicity. It would a great way of collaborative working, bringing the community and organisations together.
If any businesses are interested in paying for employees to attend the session at a cost of £31.66 per person, we are interested in hearing from you.
Any donations received toward the event will fund places for family members of those living with Dementia and members of community social groups.
