Pledges Are Coming In Strong…

As the team have been working hard to get local organisations onboard, we are extremely excited to say the hard work has paid off!

We have now got Ysgol Bryn Elian, Howell Jones Solicitors and Abergele Brownies working towards their chosen pledges.

Meetings to discuss potential pledges have been organised with the likes of;

Laura from Abergele Co-op, Cllr Charlie McCoubrey, Ben from McCoubrey Cooke and Mr and Mrs Beattie becoming Dementia Friends!

  • McCoubrey Cooke
  • Abergele Town Council
  • Home Instead Senior Care
  • Ysgol Glan Morfa
  • Cartrefi Conwy
  • Co-Op Pensarn
  • Co-Op Abergele
  • Savers
  • Tesco Abergele
  • St Michael’s Church
  • Post Office
  • Dol Awel Residential Home

The local businesses and organisations have been approached by various members of the group, with a checklist of potential pledges they can commit to over a certain period of time. Once the pledges have been chosen, and the organisation starts working towards it, the member of the group will then revisit to check that they are doing what they pledged.

If it is evident that they have made changes toward being more dementia friendly then they will be invited to our Awards night, where their efforts will be recognised and rewarded with a certificate.

It really exciting getting the ball rolling and we cannot wait to see changes implemented so that Abergele can be a safe, welcoming place for everyone to enjoy.
