Every last Monday of the month, a Memory Café is held in the Kinmel Bay Community Library, 2pm until 4pm.
This space offers an informal, safe setting for like-minded people to engage in some conversations and other activities, including group discussions, games, entertainment and guest speakers.
Free to attend, the group is open to anyone who may be affected by memory problems, including those living with dementia, their family, friends and carers.
Those in attendance have full control over what activities to engage in, which makes it more appealing due to the flexibility.
This month, the Cherry Pickers Ukulele Band entertained the group and had everyone up singing and dancing.
It’s lovely to see this community hub showing consideration to those living with Dementia and we wish them all the best in working towards becoming Dementia Friendly.
Being fairly close to Abergele, we hope we can see some of our local residents at some of the events, supporting the integration and acceptance of those living with Dementia locally.
