Wow! What a weekend...
The weather forecast wasn't looking promising, yet everyone came out in full force to support the Memory Walk and raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society.
Even more excitingly, the official Alzheimer's Society Roadshow were present at the end of the walk with lots of information for the participants about what they do and what it's all about.
A number of our steering group happily volunteered their time to ensure the event went ahead as smoothly as possible, having various designated tasks throughout the day.
One thing that really filled us with optimism was the massive age range of participants that were present; from prams to wheelchairs! It was great to see such a variety getting involved and being made aware of Dementia.
This is exactly the type of atmosphere we need to bring to Abergele. We need to educate locals about dementia, both young and old, to allow for more consideration to be shown.
Hopefully we will too be able to attract such a wide audience at one of our own events in the future.
