The Virtual Dementia Tour Bus Gives Valuable Insight To Those In Abergele

Back in January, when we first learned about the Virtual Dementia Tour Bus, we wanted to bring the VDT bus to Abergele for 3 days. Then came the challenge of raising the £3420 to make it so. But together we did it, with the help of Abergele Community.

It has been hard work but we’re absolutely over the moon that the 108 FULLY FUNDED spaces on the bus helped non paid carers, loved ones or friends of those living with Dementia. It was all made possible thanks to the support and donations from The Harp Inn, Tesco Abergele, Abergele Town Council, Rhuddlan Town Council, and everyone else! You all helped make this happen and for that we can’t thank you enough!

Those who attended the sessions found them really interesting and gave amazing feedback:

‘It helped me understand the difficulties in communication, needing a lot of patience and repetition.’

‘Eyeopener. Everyone needs to go to this bus. Excellent experience.’

‘The bus is a brilliant way of helping a carer understand living with dementia can make you feel very alone, scared and anxious. It has been a brilliant experience and would definitely recommend to anyone who works or lives with dementia.’

We as a group are so delighted to get this feedback about the experience. This just adds to our drive to do what we can to raise awareness and make a difference where we can. Thank you all for your support!
